In February 2020, we celebrated the inaugural ‘I Believe’ Chief Rod Memorial Tournament, a heartfelt tribute to the late Arnaldo Rodriguez-Matos, fondly known as Chief Rod. Hosted by USYS Europe, this event marked the beginning of a new tradition within the European military soccer community.
Chief Rod’s passion for fostering soccer excellence and community bonds was evident in every aspect of the tournament. Players, families, and teams from military districts and local German clubs came together to compete, embodying Chief Rod’s spirit of dedication and camaraderie.
