Who is USYS Bavaria?
We are a private non-profit organization registered with Garrison Bavaria. We provide developmental and competitive soccer for U.S. citizens and U.S citizenship-eligible youth soccer players under the age of 17 in the Bavaria Military Community and surrounding areas.
Who is ProSoc Academy?
ProSoc Academy, a key partner of USYS Bavaria, is the premier German-American immersion developmental academy, fostering youth soccer with the specialization in coaching American players.
What is the difference between USYS Bavaria and a Village Team?
Before we answer that question. The first question that needs to be addressed is; what is your child(s) goal in playing soccer. What is their dream? To play for fun, develop into a soccer player, play competitively? Bavaria is focused on promoting a positive environment for players to reach their fullest potential on and off the field via through developmental and competitive soccer. At the same time, we want to make soccer a pleasant, safe, and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
The main difference between Bavaria and a Village team is that Bavaria provides Professional Coaches, through our partners ProSoc Academy. Our coaches are either highly licensed or former professional players, and are all fluent in English. Secondly, players on our developmental teams are guaranteed equal playing time to foster their development. In contrast, Village soccer coaches are typically volunteers and not necessarily licensed coaches. In regards to development, it is the German practice to have unlimited numbers of players on a team, however, only an allotted number is allowed to dress for games. We have had quite a few families who have left their German village teams to come to Bavaria because their children trained for an entire season, or more, and never got to play in o a game. Lastly, due to the use of professional coaches and our partnerships with USYS, Bavaria’s fees are higher than those of a Village team.
Who can play?
Boys and girls, ages 5-17 years old split up into the following age groups: U7 (Under 7), U9, U11, U13, U15, and U17
What’s the time commitment?
We play a ten-month schedule from August to June. We usually train 60-90 minutes twice per week depending on age group. Games are typically on the weekend, lasting usually 2 hours. Your time commitment will be approximately 5-6 hours per week.
How can i get involved or volunteer?
USYS Bavaria is a volunteer organization and we are always looking for parents to get involved – join the board of directors, sponsor us, help us fundraise, or use some other talent to help us grow!
How much does the program cost?
Fees vary depending on payment option chosen, and averages less than 7€ per training session. Contact us at info@usysbavaria.org for a detailed fee schedule.
